The three routes

Income: household income normally £36,000 or less (an after-housing-costs route also exists). Postcode: homes in published eligible postcodes qualify regardless of income. Benefits/Flex: specified means-tested benefits or ECO-Flex-style declarations.

Property rules

England only; privately owned or privately rented; normally EPC D–G. Landlord participation rules apply to rented homes.

Why 'open' varies locally

74 delivery projects cover 271 local authorities (97%+ of eligible England). Councils work in annual funding years — some pause between allocations. If yours is paused, register interest for the next year rather than assuming closure.
